Early to Rise

Was up at 7am. Went and sat on the deck for a while and listened to the morning bird chorus. A feral cat sat on the deck with me for a while, waiting for breakfast no doubt. After a while, she just sauntered off to the neighbor’s yard. I suppose the cat assumed that our next-door animal lover would be more forthcoming with food. Even heard a hawk overhead. The lack of an air conditioning compressor on the deck is just amazing. There is no loud noise anymore. Just the street noise from the cars and trucks. Every now and again in the morning, there is a lull in the traffic, and there is actual peace for a few moments. Noise pollution is a horrible fact of life today.
