Apple’s Lack of Vision

I love Apple usually, but sometimes they do really bone-headed things.

For example, on my previous setup I had two displays. On those displays were nice, long DVI cables so I had lots of options for display placement.

The new displays have a very short Mini DisplayPort cable, so I am unable to use all four of the displays recently leased through Direct Capital. The cable length is NOT mentioned somewhere in the specs (I checked very carefully), and it is beyond my comprehension why Apple would shorten the cable to such a useless length, ESPECIALLY when they advertise the ability to connect up to 8 displays on the MacPro. Very upsetting. Also, the display REQUIRES that the USB connector be attached to the computer or System Preferences is unable to control things like brightness, etc. So I now need to purchase both Mini Displayport extension cables AND USB extension cables to be able to use the displays. This is just WRONG.

Glad we were able to help with the displays, wish we could help with the cables too! Let us know if we can help with anything else.

Cheers!
