How To Fix Video Problems With MacOSX 10.6.7

I was having some very odd issues with the images on all of my displays fragmenting. Switching to another “virtual window” using Spaces caused a screen redraw which would clear it for a little while.
Research found this article on MacFixIt about NVIDIA drivers not being up-to-date in the 10.6.7 OS version.
They provided this link to the driver: http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-macosx-256.01.00f03v7-driver.html, which I have installed.
They also mentioned a last-resort measure: “touch /System/Library/Extensions” as root then reboot to rebuild kernel extensions.
Now only time will tell if the issue is fixed or not.
